The Young Persons University is a website for students and teachers, providing learning tools based on the current research being undertaken at The University of Manchester.
On this site you will find self-study challenges related to the main subject disciplines at the University: Science and Engineering, Humanities, and Biology, Medicine, and Health. These challenges are designed to outline key concepts within a particular subject area, or to showcase current research being undertaken at the University. Included within each challenge is the option to discover more about studying related subjects at university and future career options. There are also links to additional resources related to that subject area.
The blog will be updated regularly, and will highlight the research being done by The University of Manchester's Widening Participation Fellows: PhD candidates from across the University who work to engage young people with university life and study. The blog also features series such as ‘Undergraduate Research’ and ‘Thinking Careers’ and promotes public engagement activities across the university.
The teachers’ section provides information and resources for teachers to support subject-specific activities, and access to Higher Education generally.
We would like to hear back from students, teachers and
parents about the site and we read all the comments we receive. You can contact
us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we
will get back to you as soon as possible.
